At the point at which we switched, ceased walking flat
plains and learned how to sit, when the able canes
of arms split from dirt we became free, rose above

instinct, quit toil for art. The pink
sky is lovely, the brittle rose might
be beauty, but the wit to decree,
sculpt, stain, knit, won’t beset pulp.
