Thoughts On A Walk

The universe is an unimaginably immense spacetime where counterbalanced forces merge and annihilate without care for the current forms and shapes of things.

The earth is alive in this system, growing and shifting and changing constantly, iterating life forms to best suit its current construct, married to none of these life forms as its orbit and tilt and fields and atmosphere and climates change.

Life on the planet is in constant connection and competition as these resources shift, each feeding the others. Life being passed around encouraging and destroying life, new forms constantly growing off the waste of others.

Our contemporary American society is based off the accumulation and ownership of resources, enough to provide for one’s own safety and security, for one’s family and friends and tribe, for one’s ego and entertainment, or simply enough to say you have more than others, so never enough.

Each of us in a growing, changing, failing physical body that will soon go back into the great sea of things.

Even if we did the incredibly hard work laid out by Chögyam Trungpa Rimpoche and others, creating an enlightened society, these other four factors (universe, earth, life, body) persist. Society is all we can change, and it changes nothing, except our experience here.
